Situated on the highest hills of St.Estephe this is one of the 'Grand Vins Cru Bougeois' planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. A deeply coloured, powerful red, fruity with a hint of oak, elegance and charming with a long finish. Chateau bottled.

BROUILLY ~ Chateau Pierreux, Georges Blanc

The largest of the Cru Beaujolais and home to the great Domaines and Chateaux of this famous region. Chateau Pierreux is a 75 hectare estate epitomising the uniqueness of the Brouilly wines:deep ruby colour, with a bouquet of soft fruits, plums and peaches, robust full flavoured and powerful. 1997 was a wonderful vintage for Beaujolais.
FLEURIE ~ La Madone, Georges Blanc
France (Beaujolais) - 2002
One of only 10 Cru Beaujolais that are able to name themselves after the village name. This is the most popular and fruitiest of all, and is from 100% Gamay grapes. Best consumed young, when the strawberry/ beetrooty fruit is at its peak. Ham and bacon are particularly suited for the Beaujolais character. It is a red which can also be served lightly chilled.
SHIRAZ CABERNET ~ Cedar Creek, Riverina
Australia - 2002/2003
Big, juicy powerful red with a berry, 'jammy' flavour from 2 premium grape varieties. The fruit and colour come from the Shiraz (Syrah in the Rhone Valley) and the drier structured flavour from the Cabernet Sauvignon. This is perhaps the perfect blend for Australian reds, and is ideal with rich casseroles, game and pies.
SHIRAZ - Simon Hackett, McLaren Vale

The spicy nature of the Shiraz grape variety is apparent in grapes grown at Milawa and other selected Victoria vineyards. Partial fermentation and maturation in oak barrels emphasise the varietal and regional flavours.

Wine makers Beyers Truter of Kanonkop fame was awarded the Robert Mondavi International Winemaker of the Year Award in 1991 in recognition of his enthusiasm and unrivalled skills & dedication to Pinotage, his native grape. This estate specialises only in red wines and with particular emphasis on oak ageing to produce wines which will mature well.
