Kick Off Party
Client: A leading Data Management Company
Client's Objectives:
To start the particular Sales Period in the way they meant to continue - with a bang! They wished to congratulate and reward their National Sales Team for the hard work and dedication that resulted in a successful previous period, as well as motivate them to continue this exceptional performance into the forthcoming period.
The Challenge:
The client felt that a day of incentive meetings/challenges followed by a party was the best way to achieve their objectives. For internal reasons this had to take place on a Monday. We were not involved in the daytime activities: our brief was to quite simply give them a night to remember. However:
- We had less than a three week lead time!
- There was no venue
- No format had been decided upon to work to, although we would have to tie the event in with previous activity that guests had taken part in that day
- The client did not want to bring any of their own favourite suppliers - they wanted a fully managed service
The client knew that their 140 guests were going to be finishing their daytime activities at approximately tea time, and would then be travelling along the River Thames aboard two huge paddle steamers. Complete Events had to take the evening from here.
After trying a number of prestigious venues along the Thames in the vicinity of the day's activities, we secured a wonderful site near to Henley on Thames. However, this brought with it other challenges - no major facilities were present with the exception of a power supply. However, being more than just a marquee company, luxury toilets and the like were not a problem to provide.
A heck of a party:
Being extremely busy on a day to day basis, the client very much left Complete Events in charge of organisation of the party.
We sourced and provided:
- The Venue: a beautiful riverside setting
- Starlight Canopy'd Party Marquee
- Professional Event Catering, supplying a canapés and drinks reception followed by an excellent value quality BBQ
- Fantastic Discotheque, with intelligent lighting, huge sound system, giant projection screens etc
- Karaoke facilities (each Sales Region had to perform a song and dance routine)
- Management of a Free Bar, providing everything from standard bottled beer to individually selected bottles of fine wine for dignitaries
- Aluminium Furniture: modern décor for a modern company and young, vibrant guests
- Extensive feature and external lighting
- Radio Microphones for client's use during event
- Technical & Event Management on the night
The party certainly did go with a bang. The 140 guests consumed over 500 litres of drink, ate food down to almost the last Cajun chicken wing and everyone had had a go on a microphone by the time the last guest left at 1am!
Despite this we understand that the vast majority of guests arrived at work the next day! How they felt is another matter.
